What is your dream car and what is the car you will most likely drive as a parent?
Also what do you drive now?

I guess that means me.
I'd like an E36 M3, honestly.
I'll probably have some gigantic Chrysler station wagon from the late 1960s as a parent, or a VW bus. Girlfriend is cool with any of those.

How do I know if I'm in Generation Z?
![]() 02/26/2015 at 10:17 |

if you were born after 1969 i guess

That's Generation X. Generation Y is late-80s to mid-2000s.

After 1969? That's probably 85% of the people on this site.

All three of your questions have the same answer, for me. E46 M3.

I'm torn between and E30 M3 and a Lancia Delta Integrale.
As a parent, I'd keep the M3 and maybe buy an Audi Rs6 with all that sweet sweet Integrale appreciation money.

Aren't generation Z kids under 16, aka not old enough to be on a forum like this?
![]() 02/26/2015 at 10:25 |

An old station wagon, Miata, Dodge Magnum, LR Defender, Crown Vic are all realistic goals.
My dream car would be a Ferrari FF, a Caterham 7, or a top end AMG.

You will be mine one day!

I am too old for your question, because I was born in 86. But I will answer it anyway!
Dream cars: Shelby Cobra 302, and Ferrari Testarossa.
Parent Car: 1st currently in the oven, I've been thinking of an FJ for fun, and being able to clean the interior easily. Also, high on the list would be an old luxury car, ala Lexus or Mercedes cruiser.
Current Car: Scion FRS, which I would like to keep if I can get a cheap enough parent car for autocross, fun backroads, and maybe some track days.

Ah ok. Based on some preliminary Googling I think I'm a pretty weak case for being in Gen Z, so I won't spoil your data!

I believe Y. No one likes to talk about us though. It was all "GEN X" then all "MILLENNIALS OMG". We got lost somewhere in the middle. I guess we weren't fussy enough.

Lol I own a Z and want to get the Z joke but don't :(

DMy realistic dream car would be a top of the line Subaru Outback, or Toyota 4Runner . They are not only realistically affordable, but they would really fit all the needs of the family up here in cold country.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 10:35 |

Right?
I was reading the gen-z/millenials wiki page and it said it refers to the generation that grew up during the Iraq and Afghan wars. I thought this was funny because I became a man during the war (I still view them as one single war as it generally focused on the bastardized and manipulated versions of Islam, much like what is going on now)

I'm 24 so I don't know if I fit in your question.
I currently have a Citroen C5 and a C4 sedan and a Subaru Tribeca.
Armored Range Rover as a parent.
My Dream Car is the Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider.

Well I'm 20 and I bought and DD a 2014 FiST, it was the best choice I could've made. I love the thing to pieces and I can't wait to be able to do some more upgrades to it. But I do have my eyes on a new Mustang GT, possibly this time next year. Or a Focus RS, we'll see.

My dream car-

What I drive now-
(Born in 1995, about to turn 20)

I, a 17 year-old Filipino, would like a Ford Focus RS and Subaru BRZ. If I'm a parent, however, I'd end up with this.
Then buy a Ford Ranger to carry some more stuff, and make the BRZ (slightly modded) the family heirloom, with a 12-point creed for the car in the glove box.

Currently I drive a 1994 BMW 325i Convertible. I have many dream cars including a BMW 507 or Z1

I could be wrong, but I thought Generation Z started in 2000? I doubt there are many sub-sixteen year olds with cars—where I live, you can't drive anything until you hit sixteen, and even then, you're limited to mopeds and such.
Anyway, I was born in 1995, so in case I've got the boundaries mixed up, I'll answer:
Dream car (I flip-flop on this frequently):
Car I'd probably drive as a parent:
(Ideally, I'd get a DS Break or something, but I'm trying to be realistic. By the time I have kids - not for another ten years, at least if I have any say in the matter - the Mark III Focus ST Estate should make for an excellent used buy.)
Current car:
(A couple of the contenders for realistic 'dream car' status are Peugeot hatches, largely because of how much I like this one.)

I thought you were asking what's you favorite generation of (Nissan) Z, needless to say I was pretty confused by the Mustang.

What is your dream car and what is the car you will most likely drive as a parent?
Dream car: BMW E9 3.0CSi
As a parent: Whatever the newest gen M5 is or if I am lucky, a restored 2002
Currently drive: E39 528iT & E36 323is

It's disputed. Most people define Gen Z starting between 1994-1995
Nice choices. As an American I wouldn't know that much about Puegeot's modern hatches

turning 16 soon might be a Honda s2000

you can find an ap1 one stock just under 10 grand

I bet golf gti is a better bet anyway though.

I could go full tarvish and get a horribly unreliable s class for under 10 grand
![]() 02/26/2015 at 11:44 |

Ah, fair enough.
When it comes to Peugeot hatches, pretty much everything made between 1983 and 1998 was fantastic. The 205, 306 and 106 are all brilliant cars. Then the 206 came along, and it all went rather pear-shaped.

I think I'm gen Z (born in '98) sooo..
My dream car: First generation Chevy Camaro RS/SS in blue
Car I'm most likely to drive as a parent: Dodge Charger R/T
Car I drive right now: 1998 BMW M3 Sedan
![]() 02/26/2015 at 12:07 |

Currently I have a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham Sedan. My dream car is either the 2013 Mustang GT with the brembo brake package in Gotta Have It Green, or the Mercedes S55 AMG.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 13:01 |

1. Aston Martin Vanquish Volante
2. I refuse parenthood, but Charger R/T
3. I'm considering either Camaro SS Convertible or Hummer H1

Get any hate from friends/people at school that you drive a BMW?
I'm not hating at all, just curious. I get a lot of hate
![]() 02/26/2015 at 15:08 |
|
Didn't we tell you weeks back not to go for a convertible?
Don't do it man. You'll hate it. Especially as a first car daily driver
The Hummer on the other hand, might be interesting. I like H1s
![]() 02/26/2015 at 15:11 |

No one at school has seen it yet because it still has yet to pass inspection to be licensed.. But I'm sure I'll get some since its going to be the only BMW on the lot.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 18:54 |

Mercedes-McLaren SLR 722 would be the dream.
As a parent? Eh. Whichever 3/5 series suits my needs best at that time.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 21:15 |

I'd like to know why, and why the coupé is a much better buy. My dad has a Volvo C70 convertible and it's just fine, shame that we can't put the top down now. But considering that there's only 1 convertible at my entire school, you might be right.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 22:08 |

Pain in the winter
douchey
tougher to clean
douchey
Just plain impractical
Did i mention it's douchey
Seriously though, convertibles cause people to sneer at you especially in high school. Go for the Hummer if your looking for attention that isn't pure hate
I know a guy with a red saturn sky. Hates it. Same story with the guy with a 2006 mustang vert. They both get bad attention
![]() 02/26/2015 at 22:18 |

Good point; Most people at my school like lifted trucks so I'm sure an H1 will grab positive attention. But if it's in woodland camo with an exhaust stack that might take it a bit too far.
![]() 02/26/2015 at 23:04 |
|
meh, i like camo :)
Hell no to stacks. That's for bro trucks

I'm currently a 17 year old myself. My dream car would have to probably be a BMW M3. I would probably drive something like an Accord or CR-V as a parent. My current car I got new, which is a Nissan Versa Note.
